Each charity receives a Halal Score from 0 to 10, helping you make informed giving decisions aligned with Islamic principles.

No. You can browse all charity profiles, view Halal Scores, and use the Zakat Calculator without creating an account. An account is only needed for features that save personal data — such as saving favorite charities, logging your donations, and subscribing to Zakat+ Pro. You can sign up at any time from the Profile tab.

Halal Scores are based on multiple factors including Shariah compliance (programs aligned with Islamic principles), transparency (public reporting and governance), financial health (verified IRS Form 990 data where available), and development impact (measurable outcomes and accountability). Our AI analyzes public data to generate comprehensive, unbiased ratings.

Yes. Zakat+ does not process payments directly. When you donate, you are redirected to the charity's own secure donation page. We only store self-reported donation logs (amounts and dates) for your personal tracking. Your account is protected with industry-standard encryption and secure authentication.

Zakat+ Pro ($6.99/month) unlocks detailed financial breakdowns, side-by-side charity comparisons, and donation history exports. The subscription is managed through Apple In-App Purchases. You can cancel anytime through your Apple ID settings under Subscriptions.

To cancel your Pro subscription, open your iPhone's Settings app, tap your name at the top, then tap Subscriptions. Find Zakat+ in the list and tap Cancel Subscription. You'll continue to have Pro access until the end of your current billing period.

You can delete your account from within the app. Go to the Profile tab, scroll to the bottom, and tap "Delete Account." This will permanently remove your account, donation history, favorites, and all associated data. This action cannot be undone.

Our charity data is sourced from a combination of official regulatory filings and AI-assisted research. Financial data for US charities is verified against IRS Form 990 filings via ProPublica. For charities without publicly available filings, financial figures are AI-estimated based on published reports and available public information — these are clearly marked as "estimated" in the app. Halal Scores, transparency ratings, and compliance research are generated using AI analysis of publicly available charity information including websites, annual reports, and regulatory filings.
