1 Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, accessing, or using Zakat+ ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

2 Description of Service

Zakat+ is a charity evaluation platform that provides:

• AI-generated Halal Scores and charity research for Islamic charitable organizations
• A database of 600+ charities with detailed profiles, financial data, and compliance ratings
• A zakat calculator to help estimate zakat obligations
• Self-reported donation tracking for personal record-keeping
• Educational content about zakat principles and the eight Asnaf categories

Zakat+ is an informational tool. It does not provide religious rulings (fatwas), legal advice, tax advice, or financial advice. Always consult with qualified Islamic scholars regarding your specific zakat obligations.

3 User Accounts

You can browse charity profiles, Halal Scores, and use the Zakat Calculator without creating an account. An account is only required for features that store personal data, including saving favorites, logging donations, and accessing a Pro subscription.

If you choose to create an account, you must provide a valid email address. You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
• All activities that occur under your account
• Providing accurate and truthful information during registration
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or engage in fraudulent, abusive, or harmful behavior.

4 Pro Subscription

Zakat+ offers an optional Pro subscription ($6.99/month) that provides access to premium features including detailed financial breakdowns, charity comparisons, and donation history exports.

• Subscriptions are billed monthly through Apple In-App Purchases
• Your subscription automatically renews unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID Settings under Subscriptions
• No refunds are provided for partial billing periods. Refund requests should be directed to Apple

5 Donations and Financial Transactions

Zakat+ does not process donations. When you choose to donate to a charity through our App, you are redirected to the charity's own external website and donation page. The donation transaction occurs entirely between you and the charity.

We are not responsible for:

• The accuracy of information on charity donation pages
• The processing, security, or completion of any donation transaction
• Refunds or disputes related to donations made through charity websites
• Tax-deductibility of donations (consult a tax professional)

The donation logging feature in Zakat+ is for personal record-keeping only and does not constitute a donation receipt or tax document.

6 Charity Ratings and Information

Halal Scores, financial data, and charity research provided in Zakat+ are generated using AI analysis of publicly available information, including IRS Form 990 filings, charity websites, and published reports.

Important disclaimers:

• Ratings are informational and should not be the sole basis for giving decisions
• AI-generated research may contain inaccuracies or outdated information
• Financial data marked as "estimated" is approximated and not verified against official filings
• We do not endorse, recommend, or guarantee any specific charity
• Charity inclusion in the App does not imply certification of Shariah compliance

We encourage users to conduct their own research and consult with knowledgeable scholars before making significant giving decisions.

7 Zakat Calculator

The zakat calculator is provided as a general estimation tool based on standard Islamic jurisprudence. It is not a substitute for personalized guidance from a qualified Islamic scholar. Different schools of thought may have varying rules regarding zakat calculation. We are not liable for any inaccuracies in zakat calculations or for any financial decisions made based on the calculator's output.

8 Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
• Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract data from the App
• Transmit malware, viruses, or any harmful code
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's operation or infrastructure
• Create multiple accounts for fraudulent purposes
• Use the App to misrepresent or defame any charity

9 Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of Zakat+ — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, scoring methodologies, AI-generated research, and software — are owned by Zakat+ and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, or commercially exploit any content from the App without our prior written consent.

10 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Zakat+ and its developers, officers, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from:

• Your use of or inability to use the App
• Any errors or inaccuracies in charity ratings, financial data, or research
• Unauthorized access to your account or data
• Any donations made to charities through external websites
• Reliance on the zakat calculator or any informational content

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

11 Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time through the Profile section of the App. Upon deletion, all your personal data, donation history, and preferences will be permanently removed as described in our Privacy Policy.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our discretion if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms.

12 Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with applicable rules, unless otherwise required by law.

13 End User License Agreement

This application is licensed, not sold, to you. Your use of the Zakat+ application is subject to Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement ("Standard EULA"), which is available at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula.

In the event of any conflict between these Terms and the Standard EULA, the Standard EULA shall take precedence with respect to your use of the application obtained through Apple's App Store.
